OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (China) Co., Ltd with a total investment of 250 million euros is a major high-tech foreign-funded project in Wuxi New District over the recent years, the project has entered the installation phase of electrical and mechanical equipments, and it is expected to be put into operation in October this year.

July 2, Lixin Huang, Standing Committee of Jiangsu and municipal party secretary, met with the CEO of German Osram Opto Semiconductor and other visitors, they negotiated and reached a consensus on speeding up construction projects and deepening the bilateral cooperation.

Lixin Huang said that Osram Opto Semiconductor project filled the gaps in the industry in Wuxi, and even Jiangsu Province, and it will play a positive role in promoting R & D, production and service levels of LED optoelectronic semiconductor industry in Wuxi. Since the project settled in Wuxi New District, various constructions have been smoothly conducted and the project has achieved remarkable results under the joint efforts of both sides. It is expected that Osram further increases investment in Wuxi to accelerate the development of the base and push the two sides to achieve win-win cooperation and common development at a higher level and wider areas. Wuxi municipal government will further optimize the service and improve policies to create a good environment for enterprise development.

CEO of German Osram Opto Semiconductor said that Osram's project in Wuxi is the Group's most important project, which will promote the Group's business development around the world. It is hoped that the two sides will have closer cooperation and exchanges, and Osram will make all efforts to develop the factory in Wuxi to be the most important overseas base of Osram.
