LiDAR Makers Strengthen Partnership for Market Expansion and Technology Integration

The rising market of autonomous vehicle has driven developments of LiDAR sensor and other sensing technology. LiDAR providers are also actively building up connections with industry partners for speeding up their market expansion and technology improvement.

Quanergy Systems, LiDAR sensors and smart sensing solutions provider announced its partnership with NIT, a distributor of IP surveillance and physical security solutions in the META region (Middle East, Turkey, Africa). Through the partnership, Quanergy aims to expand the market for its LiDAR-based security system QORTEX DTC. On the other hand, Seoul Robotics, a South Korean startup focusing on 3D computer vision software for LiDAR, reported that it has joined the Renovo ecosystem for software integration.

Targeting the market of the META region, Quanergy teamed up NIT, who will distribute QORTEX DTC for use in perimeter security applications, including intrusion detection and people tracking. This system is already integrated in various perimeter security applications. QORTEX DTC is an innovative LiDAR-based 3D perimeter fencing and intrusion detection system. The integrated hardware and software platform combines Quanergy’s high-performance high-durability M8 mechanical LiDAR sensor with its proprietary QORTEX perception software. The platform is fully integrated into existing VMS (Video Management System) and PSIM (Physical Security Information Management) infrastructures and offers surveillance automation with real-time detection, tracking, and classification.

“Quanergy is continuously seeking out relationships with progressive companies that are aligned with our mission to facilitate the widespread use of LiDAR-powered solutions across industries and around the globe,” said Dr. Louay Eldada, CEO and co-founder of Quanergy. “As a premier security distributor for the META region, NIT will allow us to expand our reach and showcase the breadth of applications for LiDAR technology in a rapidly growing market.”

By joining the Renovo ecosystem, Seoul Robotics, the South Korean LiDAR startup, can provide and support Lidar Vision Software to AWare-powered vehicles with various LiDAR sensor models, numbers, and settings. The 3D LiDAR object detection developed by Seoul Robotics has been a central technology for enabling autonomous vehicles. Seoul Robotics aims to make all LiDAR sensors intelligent and is laser-focused on creating automotive-grade 3D computer vision for LiDAR sensors. Due to the robustness of the technology – supporting 18 different LiDAR models from four different companies and easily extensible to new LiDARs – global OEMs and Tier1s have recently begun licensing the Lidar Vision Software. Now Seoul Robotics aims to help customers through Renovo’s AWare ecosystem.
