Titled “Advances in Optical Silicones,” Whiteley’s presentation is scheduled during SIL’s Better Optics = Better Lighting session, which begins at 2:45 p.m. on Thurs., Mar. 2, 2017.

In his presentation, Whiteley will outline how the continuing evolution of Dow Corning’s optical silicones technology has produced advanced new materials that enable new ways to control the shape, color and intensity of light, and to fashion optics in complex shapes with fine details and integrated mechanical features that may be impossible to achieve with conventional plastics.

Whiteley will be available before and after his presentation to meet with media and answer questions.

SIL 2017 is attended by thousands of attendees and exhibitors who are seeking the latest information on the future of LED and other advanced lighting solutions.

This year’s event will be held in the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, Calif. from Feb. 28 through Mar. 2.
