MaxLite Releases 40W LED Area Lamp for Outdoor Luminaires Replacing 175W MH

MaxLite introduces the 40-watt LED Area Lamp as an energy-efficient replacement for 175-watt metal halide bulbs in outdoor luminaires.

The lamp is an easy and economical retrofit for pole and surface mounted fixtures with an E39 socket, such as cobra heads, shoeboxes and wall packs. Delivering 3,400 lumens, the LED Area Lamp provides a high quality of light compared to the yellow haze produced by high-pressure sodium bulbs. The lamp turns on instantly and evenly distributes light with a 180-degree beam angle (Type V distribution), thereby reducing shadows and creating a more well-lit and comfortable environment for pedestrians and motorists.

Providing facilities with years of energy and maintenance cost savings, the LED lamp reduces energy usage by 75 percent and lasts twice as long as conventional bulbs, with a lifetime of 50,000 hours. Additionally, the lamp is listed on the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) Qualified Products List, making the product eligible for the highest levels of utility rebates across the country.

Designed for horizontal mounting operation only, the lamp has a 350-degree rotatable base and comes supplied with two support stands that aid in wall pack and area light applications. Suitable for use in totally enclosed luminaires, the lamp is engineered with specialized thermal protectors that reduce the risk of overheating inside the fixture. The lamp is UL-listed for ballast-bypass and comes with a five-year limited warranty and lifetime product support.
