TILS 2013:ALT receives UL for the new ALTLED® PAR30

Aeon Lighting Technology Inc. (ALT) continues to push the boundaries of what's possible with its UL certification for its widely applicable ALTLED® PAR30 LED light bulb, reaching 2,000 lumens of light. This will be good news for current clients, as well as users who haven't quite decided on which LED product to choose, around the world.

ALTLED® PAR 30 can perfectly replace the traditional 75W and 90W PAR30s, saving a lot of energy. And it has passed PSE and UL certification successfully. Some manufacturers can only reach the pinnacle for two of the three pillars of LED lighting. However, ALT has been able to reach the apex of all three—safety, functionality, and aesthetics—with its new PAR30, which can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications.

“To ensure the ALT PAR30 passed UL testing, just as it has done for PSE, ALT focused on several major factors in its design of the PAR30. It focused on the power, the heat dissipation, the aesthetics, and the likely applications, which would be indoor and outdoor," said Baly Luo, lead engineer and general manager.

"The proprietary power driver system was specifically designed for the PAR30 lamp by ALT's lead engineer allowing for a power factor >0.9. Because of the special design, the ALT PAR30 has one of the largest heat dissipation areas in the world; ALT's unique heat dissipation design also utilizes the heat sink fins in its aesthetic presentation.

However, the truly challenging aspect was also making the ALT PAR30 water, dust, and corrosion proof. While this type of safety is not normally necessary for indoor applications, this is a must for outdoor applications where the product is exposed to the elements like rain and wind.”

Because the LED lighting industry is such a new industry, even the traditional superstar lighting companies are susceptible to major safety issues when they don't ensure their products safety through compliance and certification from globally recognized agencies. Aeon Lighting Technology has taken the necessary precautions to ensure that this never occurs with ALT products. ALT plans on releasing a dimmable version of the ALTLED® PAR30 in mid to late 2013.
