New T8 LED Retrofit Tube Lights Introduced by Access Fixtures

Access Fixtures, a leader in commercial and sports lighting, has announced new T8 LED retrofit tube lights that are designed to perform efficiently in place of fluorescent lamps. The long-lasting, energy-efficient T8 LED tube lights incorporate integral drivers, eliminating failure-prone fluorescent ballasts, and simplifying T8 lighting systems. The T8 LED tube lights connect directly to line voltage for easy installation.

"The cost of manufacturing T8 LED retrofit tube lights was high and they required a ballast, so our lighting specialists didn't see the value. Consequently, we didn't sell them," said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. "Now, Access Fixtures can sell them for less than $15 per lamp and users do not need a ballast. T8 LED retrofit tube lamps are a cost-effective and energy-efficient alternative to T8 and T12 fluorescent lamps."

Rated for 35,000 hours, T8 LED retrofit tube lamps have an integrated driver and do not require a ballast. Ballasts typically last for 50,000 hours. For LED retrofit lamps that require a ballast, this means using an existing ballast or purchasing a new ballast. An existing ballast typically fails before the LED retrofit, causing maintenance and cost, while installing new ballasts adds significant expense negating the value of the T8 LED retrofit lamp.

Using only 19 watts, the T8 LED retrofit tube lamps provide high efficiency over 100 lumens per watt, have CRI of 80+, and do not contain mercury. The T8 LED tube lights are available in two-foot and four-foot lengths, and two color temperatures, 4100k and 5000k. They are designed to replace T12 and T8 fluorescent lamps. The lights are UL listed and are DLC qualified making them eligible for most utility company rebates.
