Traxon Technologies New Project Showcase - PinnacleHealth

Located on Harrisburg’s historical walk along the Susquehanna River, Pinnacle Health wanted to create a presence on this popular street and was able to creatively incorporate this into their emergency department renovation. The design theme was to illuminate the building as if it were a lantern along the river, glowing and changing its tones of white light throughout the seasons to compliment the outdoor environment. At the same time, the facility needed to ensure patients’ privacy within the building while engaging the public and visitors. To create the desired lighting environment, Calemmo chose Traxon’s Liner XB Dynamic White, to light the façade. These linear LED fixtures proved ideal for the design, offering the necessary control and programming capabilities to allow the installation to be illuminated just before dusk, and begin to glow as daylight fades into evening. In terms of functionality, the LED fixture provided the longevity necessary for the facility, as sealed boxes within the curtain wall system prevented frequent accessibility. The Liner XB Dynamic White fixture also allows a color shift from cool white to warm white as the seasons change, creating a calming atmosphere throughout the year. PinnacleHealth was the first building within Pennsylvania’s capital to be lit using LED technology, helping further define it as a centerpiece of the city’s river walk and skyline.
