Signify Debuts LED Bulbs Designed with Natural Inspiration

Signify launched the Philips MyCare LED bulb which adopts its Interlaced Optics technology to enhance eye comfort. The patented technology used in the new lamps was inspired by the pattern of sunflower seeds, with the micro Interlaced Optics imprinted onto lamps. The design can diffuse and reflect light as well as decrease glare by up to 35%.

The new Philips MyCare LED bulb will be released in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore from June 2018, with an E27 fitting at 3000k and 6500K color temperature available. The global rollout is scheduled in 2019.

According to Rowena Lee, the Business Leader of LED Lamps at Signify, the Interlaced Optics technology helps the bulbs to light more uniformly, creating an environment suitable for concentration. Compared to a compact fluorescent lamp, the new LED lamps reduce energy cost by up to 60%.

With a dedication to enhancing eye comfort, Signify has continued to conduct research in this area and has introduced the first “EyeComfort” Standard for LED lamps and luminaires.
