Jason Wu, the chairman of Taiwan LED packaging house Edison Opto claimed that the ex-factory price of LED lighting fall 30% in 2013 appears likely. For the ex-factory price in 2011 was US$4/W and in 2012, the price has fallen to US$1/W. Also, if the ex-factory price of a 3W MR16 is around US$3, the cost of LED components accounts for about 20%, it means there is limited room for price falls for LED components but it's still very likely to fall in 2013 , added Wu.
