Philips Develops the Most Energy-efficient LED Tube for Basic Lighting

Recently, Philips announced that it has developed an energy-efficient LED Tube suitable for basic lighting. Prototype of this LED tube has been produced, it can produce 200lm / w high quality white light (luminous efficacy of fluorescent is 100lm / w, while the luminous efficacy of traditional bulb is only 15lm / w); while the energy consumption of this new tube is only equivalent to half of the energy consumption of the similar LED products in current market.

This innovation of Philips is expected to significantly reduce energy consumption and energy usage costs around the world. This 200lm / w LED tube is expected to put into market in 2015, and it will be used for office and industrial lighting at first.

Industry experts believe that this innovation has enhanced the LED lighting efficiency by 100%, and it is expected to save significant cost and energy for customers.
