General information

The White LEDs 2009 utilizes Taiwan’s strong light-emitting industry and research to promote communication between scientists/engineers of local industry/research institutions and their international colleagues.? Special sessions will be arranged at the White LEDs 2009, including national projects and industrial trends, application comparison between the devices based on semiconductor and organic/polymers for solid state lighting, business opportunity of LCD backlighting, and novel light-emitting device applications.

Previous Conference Information

Organized by Professor Tsunemasa Taguchi of Yamaguchi University, Japan, the first International Conference on White LEDs and Solid State Lighting (White LEDs 2007) was held in Tokyo, Japan during November 26-30, 2007 with great success, drawing approximately 600 attendees. Different from other nitride meetings, this conference was designed to promote the development of light-emitting device technology (UV, color, and white) aimed at solid state lighting (SSL) and other related applications. It covered a broad scope of topics from related material preparation, device design and process, to SSL science and technology and its various applications.

Conference Topic

Semiconductor epitaxial growth and characterization for LED fabrication

Organic/polymer and phosphor material preparation for OLED/LED fabrication

Semiconductor LED design and fabrication

Organic/polymer light-emitting device design and fabrication

Nanotechnology for enhancing emission efficiency

Packaging and system

Various applications

Other LED topics
