According to Japanese media, Panasonic schedules to enter LED lighting market for residential application in mainland China, with the release of two ceiling lights and sixteen downlights, and plans to increase the number of product to sixty in 2012.
In addition, the company will focus on selling high quality products and aim at middle class and rich class market. Therefore, the price will be more expensive than products made by mainland manufactures.
What’s more, apart from manufacturing LED lightings in "Beijing factory" which currently is major in fluorescent, Panasonic also intend to arrange the LED lighting outsourcing orders.
It’s reported that Panasonic targets to increase its LED lighting business revenue to 200 billion Japanese yen above, including 40 billion Japanese yen for the overseas market, and mainland market is expected to contribute 40% to the whole revenue.
Plus, the company has announced to release 40W equivalent LED light bulb to tap into consumer market in Europe, and continues to enlarge its product series including expanding LED application in general public, enterprise as well as related components for manufacturers. The number of product series in 2012 (April 2012-March 2013) is expected to reach 42, four times as current (11 pieces).
