Digital Lumens has appointed experienced lighting industry executive and market strategist Matthew Healy to lead its business development efforts. Healy previously served as business development director at GE Lighting, where he played an integral role in expanding the company’s LED lighting portfolio. At Digital Lumens, Healy will be responsible for working with other players in the market to create an open and interoperable ecosystem for intelligent lighting.
The appointment comes on the heels of the company’s recent announcement of $10 million in funding to fuel additional growth into new sectors and international markets. In bringing Healy on board, the company bolsters its ability to reach new customers and tap into those markets, supporting its vision for continued growth in the U.S. and around the globe.
“Having spent much of my career forging relationships and developing business opportunities in technology companies, I am thrilled to be joining Digital Lumens, whose intelligent LED lighting solutions are truly changing the game,” says Healy. “I look forward to collaborating with my new team to accomplish an even greater level of success in the months and years to come.”
Prior to his role at GE, Healy was the director of strategic marketing at Ferro Corporation, and ATMI, where he was responsible for strategic marketing and business development activities. Healy earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from MIT, his PhD in the same field from Harvard University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
“We know that integrated intelligence creates a platform for radical energy efficiency and innovative functionality.,” said Tom Pincince, President and CEO of Digital Lumens. “But, the lack of open standards and a dynamic interoperable ecosystem has so far hampered massive adoption across the entire landscape. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge, incredible industry experience, and razor-sharp go-to-market skills that will help us work with other players in the market to change this.”
The industry leader in accelerating the LED lighting revolution, the Digital Lumens model combines LED lighting technology with energy management and service capabilities, to offer its customers significant savings of 90 percent annually. The company’s system has proven successful in over 500 installations across the commercial and industrial lighting sector.
