LG and Samsung Start to Adopt LED lights in Refrigerator

Recently, LG Electronics and Samsung start to adopt LED lights in refrigerator.

LG has launched a new DIOS refrigerator which combines with green, white and blue LED lights that it claims to be eight times more energy-efficient than the fridges that use regular lights. The company also touts the LED lights as causing little temperature differences in the refrigerator to reduce fresh vegetable oxidation.

In addition, LG Household and Health Care, a sister company of LG Electronics, also combined a lamp and air freshener with LED lights. People simply press a button and the light will go on, along with the emission of a mild and pleasing scent. Three designs including stars, flowers and fireflies can be chosen. Philips has released similar products.

For Samsung Electronics, the company has released its new Zipel LED refrigerator, designed by the world-famous jewelry maker Massimo Zucchi. The refrigerator’s surface and the curving door knob are decorated by LED lightings. With its “jewelry lighting,” Samsung expects this is “a refrigerator women can fall in love with.”
