SemiLEDs Q3 of Fiscal Year 2012 Financial Results Increase 64%

SemiLEDs has announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2012, ended May 31, 2012. Revenue for Q3 of fiscal 2012 was $9.2 million, a 64% increase compared to $5.6 million in the same time of fiscal 2011. GAAP net loss attributable to SemiLEDs stockholders for the third quarter of fiscal 2012 was $10.0 million, or a net loss of $0.36 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net loss attributable to SemiLEDs stockholders of $5.1 million, or a net loss of $0.19 per diluted share, for the third quarter of fiscal 2011. LG Electronics Failed First Round in U.S. LED Patent Fight against Osram

LG Electronics has failed in the first round of a trade dispute brought by Siemens unit Osram unit over patents covering LED lighting technology. According to U.S. International Trade Commission Judge David Shaw said in a notice posted on the agency’s website, LG and LG Innotek Co. infringed one Osram patent for LEDs while a second patent wasn’t infringed. Chinese firm Newsun has announced to develop a real AC POWER LED after seven years of research and development in collaboration with Professor Edson Products.
