LRC Calls for Volunteers for Study on Effects of Light from iPad Screens

The Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is recruiting subjects 18-30 years old to participate in a paid study that will take place on four consecutive Fridays: September 30, October 7, October 14, and October 21. iPad be Used to Control Streetlights in London Borough

iPad is used to control streetlights in London borough. After a successful pilot scheme, the London borough has created a ‘Smart Lights system’ deploying Philips CosmoPolis Outdoor Lighting products in conjunction with a Harvard LeafNut CMS system. The council will also install GE Ceramic Metal Halide StreetWise lamps. The project will take four years to complete and it is hoped the £3.25 million investment will save council taxpayers £420,000 per year from 2015/16 onwards. Coretronic reportedly entered the supply chain for the second generation iPad

It’s reported that Coretronic entered the supply chain for the second generation iPad, and would supply BLUs to Chimei Innolux (CMI) and LG Display. But Coretronic had declined to comment. In the end of 1Q11, the second generation iPad was expected to hit the market and it’s estimated that suppliers in the supply chain started to ship in 1Q11.
