The Optoelectronics group of Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a new series of super red, red, amber, and yellow ultrabright LEDs in compact untinted surface-mount packages with dome lenses. Utilizing the latest ultrabright AllnGaP on Si chip technology, the space-saving Vishay Semiconductors VLD.1535.. series delivers extremely high brightness with luminous intensity to 14000 mcd and an emission angle of ± 22° without the need for an external lens.

Vishay Intertechnology introduced a new high-brightness, tricolor LED optimized for interior automotive lighting, RGB displays, and backlighting. Featuring separate red, green, and blue LED chips inside the compact 3.5 mm by 2.8 mm by 1.45 mm PLCC-6 surface-mount package, the Vishay Semiconductors VLMRGB6112..enables individual control of each chip, making it possible to realize every color within the color room defined by the gamut triangle area inside the CIE 1931 color space through color mixing.

Vishay Intertechnology introduced a new metal-core-based cool white LED power module featuring 12 high-brightness LEDs with high luminous flux of 4000 lm each at 1 A. To simplify designs and manufacturing processes, the Vishay Semiconductors VLSL12A03-3Q3T-50A can be combined with off-the-shelf LEDiL quadruple lenses, while its integrated small thermal sensor (NTCS0603E347JHT) and fourfold plug-in connector (87438-0443) eliminate the need for additional soldering.

Vishay Intertechnology, one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components, today acquired all of the remaining outstanding shares of Taiwan based Capella Microsystems Inc. (GreTai Securities Market: 3582) for approximately NT$668.2 million or US$21.0 million, pursuant to the terms of its previously announced merger agreement with Capella. Capella is a fabless IC design company specializing in optoelectronic products.
