Luminus Devices Expands Reseller Channel in Japan with Distributor Marubun Corporation

Luminus Devices Inc., developer and manufacturer of award-winning PhlatLight(R) LEDs, Thursday announced a partnership with Marubun Corporation, to distribute its award-winning, large-chip, PhlatLight LEDs to electronics companies in Japan selling projector systems in the home and commercial market.

"Popular PhlatLight LEDs are growing in global demand with electronics companies looking to replace traditional lamp technologies with long-lasting, environmentally-friendly solid-state light sources," said Keith T.S. Ward, president and CEO, Luminus Devices. "We look forward to working with Marubun in meeting the growing customer demand in Japan for our large-chip PhlatLight LEDs."

Today, PhlatLight LEDs are the solid-state light source in numerous projection systems from companies, including: Acer, BenQ, Chi Lin, Delta Electronics, LG, Samsung and Toshiba. PhlatLight LEDs provide outstanding brightness from a single large LED, in contrast to arrays of smaller LEDs or traditional lamp technologies on the market today. PhlatLight LEDs are also used in a variety of lighting applications that require high brightness and efficiency, wide color gamut, high color rendering and long lifetimes, such as wide area, entertainment, architectural, specialty, industrial and commercial lighting applications because PhlatLight LED enable high-lumen applications where traditional LEDs are not an option.
