These LED Bulbs are installed in the museum’s Pre-Columbian Gallery and the exterior and lobby of its Caroline Wiess Law building. According to the company, A19 lamps can reduce energy consumption by as much as 85 percent compared to traditional bulbs.

The museum expects to install more lamps in Cullinan Hall in October and the Japan Gallery next year.

Plus, Sprouts Farmers Market is also to install Lighting Science Group Definity PAR 38 LED bulbs at its newest location in Lakewood, Calif. The new bulbs will replace the 70W ceramic metal halide bulbs that are currently used to illuminate a 90-foot wall mural. The project should reduce the artwork’s electricity consumption by 40 percent.
