Speaker Profile

Dr. Rainer Beccard received his PhD in Physics from the Technical University of Aachen in 1993. He joined Aixtron in 1994 as a member of the process development group, followed by various management positions in technology, sales and marketing.

In his current position as Vice President Marketing he is responsible for strategic and operational marketing of Aixtron products, such as MOCVD, HVPE, and plasma enhanced CVD and OVPD equipment for manufacturing of compound semiconductors, carbon nanotubes /graphene and organic materials.

Inand the network application has been heading into the final stage.

 LEDforum 2011, He will deliver the speech—Advanced MOCVD Technology for SSL.

 Dr. Maosheng Hao has been dedicated to researches on the epitaxial growth of Ⅲ-Ⅴ compounds especially the heteroepitaxial growth since he graduated from the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also accomplished in properties and characterization of semiconductor materials, development and application of semiconductor optoelectronic devices.

Since his return to China in 2006, Dr. Hao has been working with Epilight as its deputy general manager of technology, in full charge of the research and development of new products and have made great contributions to the company in the fields of high power green LED products, patterned substrates as well as high power chips. Before 2006, he had taken posts of lab lecturer, senior researcher and visiting associate professor respectively in the University of Tokushima, Advanced Materials Research Center of Nanyang Technological University and Nagoya Institute of Technology where he conducted thorough researches into the GaN-based MOCVD epitaxial growth, basic properties of GaN materials and optoelectronic device applications. In LEDforum 2011, Dr. Hao will discuss about advanced technology of GaN-based LED chips.

Macroblock’s chairman Dr. Li-Chang Yang, has founded Macroblock, Inc. and has developed the world’s first 16-bit PWM embedded LED driver with patented S-PWM technology. Currently, Macroblock ranks as top 10 suppliers among the global LED driver providers.

In LEDforum 2011, Dr. Yang will discuss about the status quo, characteristics and future development of LED Landscape Lighting for the Outdoor Application.

KC Cheng is the Marketing Director for Asia Pacific region in OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. With over 10 years’ solid LED experiences,he is now responsible for all marketing, application engineering issues of solid state lighting, visible light LED, infrared / high power laser products in the region.

Cheng earned his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas. In LEDforum 2011, Cheng will discuss about Development Evolution and Future Trend of Solid State Lighting.

Mr. Sean Zhou has more than 15 years of marketing experience and once worked with Philips Lighting (China) Co., Ltd as its senior marketing manager of consumer products. As the marketing director (Asia) of Philips Lumileds, he is now responsible for the promotion and business development of LUXEON LEDs in Asia.

In LEDforum 2011, Mr. Zhou will deliver the speech LED Chip Development Trend.

Dr. Jia Lee is currently the Director of Marketing for Veeco’s MOCVD business. He holds a number of patents related to thin film chemical vapor deposition. He has been focused on HB LED after joining Veeco.

In LEDforum 2011, Dr. Lee will deliver the speech entitled Reducing LED Manufacturing Costs through Advancements in MOCVD Technology

In addition,  senior analysts from LEDinside will also attend LEDforum 2011 to present LED market development and latest research reports.
