Smartphone LED Projector Puts Apps On The Big Screen & Boosts Battery

Just imagine it: A new high score on Angry Birds projected on a 5o inch screen for all the world to see! Or, perhaps more practically, using your tablet to give an important presentation when the company’s projector goes on the fritz. All this and more is possible thanks to Brookstone’s Compact 80-Lumen Pocket Projector.

At approximately 4 in. x 4 in., the Pocket Projector is small enough to tuck into your briefcase or carry on. When connected via HDMI to most smartphones, tablets, computers, cameras, etc., however, its bright LED lamp is capable of projecting bright, sharp images up to 60″ diagonal.

But the cool thing about this Brookstone gadget isn’t just that it will allow you to watch Netflix on the wall of the terminal when your flight’s delayed for three hours. (Although that is pretty cool). The best feature is that the Pocket Projector comes complete with a rechargeable 3800mAh battery that can double as a USB backup battery for your smartphone devices.

As Red Ferret reports, “The device lasts 2 hours on a charge, comes with built in speakers and outputs to 1080i from any HDMI enabled device.” A built-in focus wheel lets you adjust the display for optimum resolution, while the dual speakers with volume control let you accompany your video with audio—or add separate speakers using the 3.5mm audio-out jack.

iPhone owners beware: Apple devices require an Apple Digital AV Adapter (sold separately) for HDMI use.
