Foreign Enterprises have Advantages in Upstream and Midstream

Rongqing Liang introduced that LED industry consists of upstream, midstream and downstream. LED chip technology belongs to the upstream industry. Under the Power density at 350, the current international LED chip technology comes to a very mature stage, especially the sapphire substrate, which has developed faster in overseas. Currently, the international mainstream LED companies like Osram and Philips have made a breakthrough in this regard, but which is the soft underbelly of Chinese LED enterprises.

The midstream industry is LED assembly areas. Rongqing Liang stated that now generally tooling with SMD; high power lighting adopts ceramic substrate. In this regard, domestic enterprises have certain advantages, but also basically monopolized by foreign enterprises.
