Wakē Alarm Awakes People with Beam of Light

Los Angeles based Lucera Labs has developed an IR sensor equipped alarm clock that wakes up people gently with a focused beam of LED light.

The alarm’s IR sensors enables it to distinguish different body temperature, and direct the warm colored LED light beam and narrow audio sound beam towards the correct user.

Wakē  directs light to a specific user based on the person's body temperature.

The alarm clock gradually increases the intensity of the LED light and volume of the alarm.

According to Lucera Labs, ultrasonic wave technology used in the parametric speakers of Wakē is a narrow sound beam, so it will not affect the person sleeping next to the user.

The company has so far raised US $70,289 out of its $ 100,000 goal on Kickstarter to mass produce the alarm.
