On March 13, LightFair announced the postponement of the trade show and conference. The fair will be moved to late summer or early fall pending on the conditions.

Dan Darby, the show director, addressed that safety and wellbeing of all LightFair attendees is the first priority and postponing the show is the most responsible action considering the growing concerns around the coronavirus.

In addition, Prolight + Sound, which was moved from March 31- April 3 to May 26-29, has been cancelled as the local government escalated the regulation of large-scale event due to the rapid spread of coronavirus infection. The event organizer, Messe Frankfurt, noted that since it cannot be assumed that the current situation will have changed by the time the postponed event was to have been held, it has decided to cancel the event. Prolight + Sound 2021 will be held from April 13-16.
