LG Display showcased a number of ultra-large in-vehicle display solutions, including the world's largest in-vehicle display, that will advance the innovation of future vehicles.

On January 9 (local time), LG Display set up a booth dedicated to automotive displays in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), the Mobility Technology Pavilion at CES 2024, and unveiled the world's largest automotive display, a Pillar to Pillar (P2P) LCD, and the largest slidable panel ever, a 32-inch slidable OLED.

The company also divided the development stages of Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) into Shift, Evolution, and Beyond, and introduced three concept cars with in-vehicle display solutions optimized for each stage, suggesting the direction of mobility innovation.

First, LG Display showcased the largest in-vehicle display solutions for SDVs.

SDVs are characterized by Screenification, which enables drivers and passengers to conveniently operate various in-vehicle functions on a large screen.

The 57-inch P2P LCD, the world's largest single-panel automotive display, stretches across the dashboard from driver to passenger.

The P2P LCD received the CES 2024 Innovation Award from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of CES, for its ability to create a new on-the-go experience for passengers.

The P2P LCD is a naturally curved 3,500R screen that allows users to view vehicle information such as driving information and climate control systems at a glance from any position, and enjoy a variety of content such as movies and games in high definition.

The 32-inch slidable OLED, the largest of the slidable panels, is a large screen that fills the interior of the vehicle and is normally hidden in a curled position in the ceiling, but then unfolds downward when needed.

With a radius of curvature of only 30R, the screen does not take up much space even when rolled up, and its thin design maximizes the efficiency of limited space in the vehicle.

The high resolution of QHD (2560×1440) or higher enhances the immersive viewing experience, and the high-sensitivity touch function makes it easy to use various functions such as games and video conferencing.

In addition, a variety of ultra-large automotive display solutions were introduced, including the ultra-large P-OLED P2P, which seamlessly connects a 12.3-inch P(plastic)-OLED and a 34-inch P-OLED for the instrument panel to create one large display, and a 48-inch Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) LCD that fills the dashboard from driver to passenger with a long screen.
