Sino American to Build Semiconductor and LED Companies

Recently, Sino American Silicon Products is reported to divide its semiconductor and LED departments into two independent companies  named as “Huanchiu Wafer “and “Sapphire Technology”  ,completely owned by the company, which will retain its core photovoltaic business. The base day for the split is set on October 1. And the two new companies will apply for listing their shares on the domestic bourse within one year.

Opposite to the trend of merger in the local PV industry, the spin-off will transform the structure of Sino American into a sprawling holding company, consisting of the six major businesses of poly-silicon in the upstream sector, PV crystal and silicon wafer, solar cell, PV module and system, semiconductor, and LED.
