Universal Display Cooperates with Panasonic Idemitsu on OLED Technology

Universal Display is reported to reach a deal  with Panasonic Idemitsu OLED Lighting Company, the joint venture of Panasonic Electric Works Co. Ltd., and Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd. on OLED technology.

Under the deal, Panasonic Idemitsu gets rights to use Universal’s “UniversalPHOLED” technology in its OLED lighting products, with the terms running through July of 2014.

Some amount of the royalties involved will be paid up front to Universal, the company said, though the amounts involved were not disclosed.
