In September 2026, Hongshi Intelligent brought its 0.15 cc Yunjin XC7 full-color MicroLED light engine from CIOE in Shenzhen to MicroLED Connect + AR/VR Connect in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The two events gave specialists across the AR display industry a close look at Hongshi's latest product development.
At CIOE, the Yunjin MicroLED light-engine platform received the 2026 SIVA AWARDS honor for "Best Microdisplay Solution of the Year."

A forum for hands-on industry discussion
Held on September 16-17, MicroLED Connect + AR/VR Connect centered on conference presentations, panel discussions and face-to-face meetings. Compact demonstration tables brought working hardware into those conversations, giving participants time to examine products and exchange views directly.
Hongshi also presented in the main auditorium on September 16, discussing the next stage of MicroLED microdisplay development. Conversations continued at the demonstration table, where product samples gave people from different disciplines a common point of reference.

XC7 and XC6: interest across the AR display supply chain
Over the two days, visitors came from epitaxial materials, lithography, production and test equipment, Lcos and MicroLED displays, waveguides, eyewear, semiconductors, AR platform and device developers. Display technology analyst and KGOnTech author Karl Guttag visited on both days to examine the working XC7 sample, take photographs and video, and discuss product details.
Alongside XC7, attendees experienced a full-color demonstration pairing Hongshi's XC6 MicroLED light engine with a silicon carbide (SiC) waveguide, as well as monochrome green AR glasses. After viewing the displays, conversations turned to cost and production readiness.
An attendee from the optics industry subsequently shared the XC6-SiC waveguide demonstration on LinkedIn. The waveguide partner reposted it, and Hongshi joined the conversation, extending the exchange beyond the conference.

AI/AR Glasses: when industry peers are also users
One detail surprised our team: many of the attendees we met were already familiar with Even Realities and Rokid. A number owned Even glasses, and several had their G2 with them. They brought their own experience of display quality and wearability to the discussion.
That experience gives the next generation of displays a practical reference point. Full color needs to add value while preserving the fit, weight and battery life users expect from their glasses. For Hongshi, these conversations reinforce the importance of defining display products around how people wear and use the complete device.
From working samples to volume production
A new light engine, a full-color optical demonstration and glasses already in use represent different stages of product development. Together, they allow discussions across the supply chain to connect display performance with integration requirements and practical user needs.
Hongshi continues to develop MicroLED microdisplay chips and light engines with clear product objectives: smaller dimensions to give frame and temple designers more room, higher efficiency to support battery life and wearing comfort, and consistent performance across batches to support dependable delivery.
Customer validation and preparations for XC7 volume production are continuing. The work ahead is to carry the progress demonstrated in Eindhoven into products that customers can integrate and users can wear every day.
