GE Lighting, a unit of GE Appliances & Lighting, continues a reshaping effort designed to better serve customers and enable profitable growth with the establishment of GE Lighting Solutions, a combination of its light-emitting diode (LED) systems operation, Lumination, based at GE Lighting's world headquarters in Cleveland, and its commercial and industrial fixture group, GE Lighting Systems in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

In Vestal, a part of New York's the Greater Binghamton area, the 2009 town board discussed the issue at length, creating a law that would put strict regulations on the use of LED signs. A public hearing on the proposed law will take place at the regularly scheduled town board meeting.Several area businesses have requested a variance to use LED signs. Only one -- Horizons Federal Credit Union at Campus Plaza -- has one. Tyrell Auto Sales, 2102 Vestal Parkway W., has requested authorization to install an electronic sign.

Abu Dhabi---Yesterday, according to the Department of Municipal Affairs, A policy for energy efficient LED lighting for majority of roads is being developed in an effort to further conserve energy. It will showcase 12 projects from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region that focus on energy conservation at the World Future Energy Summit at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre beginning today. Ruud Lighting Inc. today announced settlement in a copyright infringement lawsuit against Elcast Lighting, Inc. of Addison, Illinois. Ruud Lighting’s complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleged that Elcast Lighting illegally distributed promotional sales brochures containing large portions of BetaLED copyrighted works, even including copying a registered brand (THE EDGE®) to customers and representatives.
