Seoul Semiconductor Eyes Larger Global Automotive LED Market Share as Products Pass GM Tests

Seoul Semiconductor, a leader in LED technology, announced that it will increase the global automotive LED market share by strengthening its high efficient and high reliable LED product line-up for the automotive application on May 28, 2015.

Since 2011 Seoul Semiconductor has developed efficient and reliable LED packages for the automotive lighting market and has supplied LEDs for headlamps to global auto makers. Seoul Semiconductor’s 14 LED packages specifically designed for automotive applications have passed reliability tests at General Motors earlier this year. “LEDs for automotive applications have to meet strict certification standards for reliability, lumen output and efficiency set by automobile manufacturers in Europe, U.S and Japan,” said Lae-hyun, Kim, the vice-president of the company’s automotive business division. “Seoul Semiconductor is already recognized for its performance and now the sales revenue for its automotive LEDs continues to grow.”
