Everlight to File Another Patent Invalidation Case against Nichia in Germany

Everlight announced that it will be filing another suit to invalidate Nichia’s YAG LED patent in Germany.

On Aug. 17, 2016, Nichia announced the German Federal Court of Justice ruled its YAG LED patent was valid, a decision concluding a two year lawsuit filed by Everlight to invalidate Nichia’s LED patent.

According to the Nichia statement on Wednesday, the German court ruling was final and could not be appealed by Everlight.

Everlight has responded by stating it will file another patent invalidation complaint against Nichia in the German court.
