[News] Valeo Wins Major Car Interior Lighting Solutions Program from Premium Global Automaker – Entering High Volume Production with TactoTek®’s IMSE® Technology

News Source:

Valeo, the global leader in automotive lighting systems, announces a major program award from a premium global automaker. As part of this program, Valeo is introducing a new, state-of-the-art, automated high-volume manufacturing solution utilizing TactoTek’s In-Mold Structural Electronics (IMSE) technology.

The awarded program focuses on an innovative interior solution that integrates lighting and electronics into a single, unified, and ready-to-use smart structure. This design creates a refined, flush aesthetic and elevates the in-cabin experience, reflecting a broader industry shift toward vehicle interiors where design, functionality, and intelligence are cohesively integrated.

The project not only strengthens Valeo’s position at the forefront of interior system innovation, but also solidifies the Group’s role as a key technology partner for the future of mobility. With this win, the Group has recorded close to €1 billion order intake for interior lighting since 2024, including pixelated solutions, light lines, and now smart surfaces.

Maurizio Martinelli, Light Division CEO at Valeo, stated: “This award sets a new benchmark for next generation interior solutions. Valeo’s lighting expertise and industrial capabilities, combined with IMSE technology, are enabling us to bring highly advanced, smart interior systems into large-scale production. It also reflects our commitment to shaping the future of mobility in a way that brings lasting value to customers globally.”

Jussi Harvela, CEO of TactoTek, added: “Our cooperation with Valeo and the commissioning of a dedicated new production line mark an important milestone in the large-scale industrial adoption of IMSE technology, whose cost competitiveness and ability to support future design evolution were decisive factors in securing the award. This collaboration demonstrates how our vision for smart surfaces transforms into a scalable solution that serves leading automotive manufacturers.”

Developed specifically for the industrialization of IMSE-based solutions, the new line embodies Valeo’s commitment to advanced manufacturing, optimized processes, and future-oriented production capabilities.

TactoTek’s IMSE technology contributes important benefits to the program. By integrating electronics directly into the finished part, the technology results in a thin, lightweight, energy-efficient, and highly durable structure. Furthermore, it inherently reduces material use, supporting the industry’s transition toward more sustainable manufacturing practices. Through this close collaboration, TactoTek provides the technological foundation that allows Valeo to scale this solution to high-volume production.

This collaboration is setting a new direction for intelligent interiors and accelerates the broader adoption of IMSE-based solutions across the automotive sector. The new production line and the combined expertise of Valeo and TactoTek establish a strong foundation for shaping the in-vehicle experience of tomorrow.
