Philips to Hold Its First ‘Illuminesca’ Event in Dubai

Philips is to hold its first ‘Illuminesca’ event in Dubai on March 14 at Dubai Festival City’s Intercontinental Hotel, inviting stakeholders to experience live demos of lighting application in hotels, retail stores and supermarkets.

Illuminesca will showcase Philips’ latest retail and hospitality LED lighting innovations in the form of eight different mini demonstrations, highlighting how light can create a unique shopping experience or a memorable stay in a hotel, while simultaneously reducing carbon emission, saving energy and lowering operational costs.

According to Paolo Cervini, general manager, Philips Lighting Middle East & Turkey, “With 24/7 operations, the hospitality industry is a sector with significant potential to make large energy savings, and lighting is one of the most impactful ways to do this. Currently, 42 per cent of energy usage comes from lighting, of which 70 per cent is inefficient. Solutions showcased during the event, like Philips’ LuxSpace, will demonstrate how high and effective the quality of light is, while still being able to conserve energy.”

“Even shopping today has become an experience,” Paolo added. “People go shopping for different reasons, and might be driven by a different motivation each time they go. The setting in which they shop in should reflect this”.

And Philips said its LED solutions, like StyliD and PureDetail, are uniquely suited for both food and fashion retail outlets.

Before that, the similar event has took place in Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal and other parts of Europe and received good feedbacks.
