NVC Works with Authorities to Crackdown on Fake Lighting Gangs

NVC Lighting collaborated with police forces and Industry and Commerce Bureau to arrest fake lighting gangs and caught a couple of them in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Shanghai and other places, according to a Weibo entry written by NVC Lighting Sichuan Regional Manager. 

Fake LED lighting products are becoming a major issue in China recently due to its high popularity and profitability. These cheap fake luminaries are creating a stir in the local LED industry. Despite counterfeiting operations being launched around the country with some even being arrested and charged, the criminal trend remains.Prior to being exposed, most of these fake LED products were being sold through retailer shops, but now the criminal groups are turning to e-commerce.

On Dec.10, 2014, NVC Lighting Sichuan Regional Manager posted on Weibo NVC’s collaboration with law enforcements had been fruitful. Members of fake lighting gangs were caught in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Shanghai and other places. Among them, a criminal group’s monthly revenue from selling fake NVC Lighting products through e-commerce channels reached RMB 4 million (US$ 646,788) , he said.
