Ingo Bank, CFO at Osram, said the company is on the lookout for potential acquisition opportunities or partners to consolidate its automotive lighting unit in terms of electronics and software.

In addition, acquisitions for Osram Opto Semiconductors would also be possible options.

Thanks to Osram’s healthy balance sheet and the 500 million-euro sale of its lamps business LEDVANCE, the company has funds available to spend on acquisitions.

That said, Bank emphasized that although the company has the capacity to act, “we will not be making the error of buying for the sake of it.”
