Mini LED TVs as the key to Boost Everlight Revenue in 2020

Taiwan-based LED manufacturer Everlight began shipping its first batch of Mini LED products in 2H19. While the company steadily expands shipment this year, mostly on the strength of its Mini LED TV backlights, it is also expected to include automotive display panels in its portfolio next year. The overall market sentiment is optimistic regarding Everlight’s future operations, driven by the forward momentum of Mini LED products.

Comparing to OLED-based products, Everlight’s Mini LED products are highly cost-competitive and has found its entry point into the market with a range of large-format Mini LED TV backlight products. But with the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, it is anticipated that Mini LED product shipments may be reduced or deferred shipment into the next quarter, given the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics.

With regards to automotive Mini LED applications, Everlight has set its sights on developing Mini LED-based automotive displays, with an expected shipping date in 2H21. Once shipment commences, Everlight will see revenue contributions from automotive Mini LED applications starting next year.

Furthermore, Everlight has started to recognize revenues from winning Mini LED TV and smart city light bids. As its range of IR/UV products posts stronger performances by the quarter, and automotive clientele grows, the company’s yearly outlook appears on the whole optimistic.
