BOE's 12-inch OLED Project Will be Completed in January 2024

On March 28th, Yunnan News  reported that BMOT, a subsidiary of BOE Group, is building a 12-inch OLED microdisplay device production line in Yunnan Chong Hsing District.

According to reports, the project is implemented in three phases and is expected to be completed in January 2024, with an annual production capacity of 5.23 million pieces. The construction of the first phase of the project started in August 2020. At present, the equipment is under testing and adjusting.

LEDinside checked the official website of Tianyancha and learned that BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd. in Kuming was established in November 2017 with a registered capital of RMB 3.04 billion, and BOE holds approximately 82.8% of its shares. It was renamed BMOT in July 2020 and is mainly engaged in the production, sales and developemnt of Micro OLED devices. The company will be used as the supply base for AR in the future.

Prior to this, BMOT has built an 8-inch OLED production line and mass-produced it in August 2019 with an annual production capacity of 2 million pieces. In December 2019, the company announced that it will invest in another 12-inch OLED microdisplay device production project. The total investment is RMB 3.4 billion, and the amount of raised funds is RMB 1 billion.
