Samsung Display and Air Products has signed new long-term contracts to supply gaseous nitrogen and oxygen, and liquid argon to Samsung's Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) manufacturing complex in Tangjeong, South Korea.

Our friends at OLEDinfo have compiled news from several Korean sources confirming total investments in Samsung’s upcoming OLED TV panel fab might be higher than previous reports, and sheds light on the OLED technology the company will be utilizing.

LG Display, the world’s leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that it will invest KRW1.84 trillion (US $ 1.60 billion) to begin building a new  panel plant in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, Korea, with production expected to commence in the first half of 2018.

It seems Samsung Display has not quite given up on OLED TVs yet, and has no intention of letting rival compatriot LG Display become a monopoly in this sector, according to a recent Reuters report.
