The trading portfolio of IMM Photonics has been expanded in the segment Fabry-Perot laser diodes to include a 830 nanometer (nm) version by the Japanese manufacturer QD-Laser.

Laser diode is a next generation lighting technology incubating in Shenzhen, China, giving hope that the region will emerge as a leading international laser lighting player soon.

Through this agreement, USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS will acquire the LED, red, violet and part of the infrared laser diode business from Oclaro Japan. The acquired activity is primarily located in Komoro, Japan and includes approximately 80 employees.
