Eaton Settles Patent Infringement Lawsuit with Two LED Lighting Companies

Eaton announced that it has reached a settlement in the patent infringement lawsuit it filed against Cordelia Lighting and Jimway. The settlement ends a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia filed in 2016. Seoul Semiconductor announced that it has expanded its patent infringement litigation against Fry’s Electronics, a U.S. based consumer electronics retailer, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. NanoLumens Dismisses Claims Against Infiled USA and DetaiLED Solutions

NanoLumens, a creators of compelling interactive LED visualization solutions, and Infiled USA and DetaiLED Solutions, providers of customized technology solutions utilizing LED displays, announced they have reached a settlement to dismiss a patent infringement lawsuit. Although DetaiLED Solutions had displayed a flexible LED display model on its website, Infiled USA and DetaiLED Solutions demonstrated that they have not sold and agreed that they will not make, use, sell, offer for sale, or import any flexible LED display modules that infringe NanoLumens’ patents in the United States. The parties anticipate future discussions to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities.

Lighting Science Group Corporation (OTCQB: LSCG), a leading global manufacturer of innovative LED lighting solutions, announced that on August 5, 2015, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio granted Lighting Science’s motion for summary judgment, declaring invalid certain patents of GE Lighting Solutions LLC and dismissing GE Lighting’s patent infringement claims against Lighting Science. The lawsuit alleges infringement by Lighting Science and five other LED manufacturers of two GE Lighting patents, U.S. Patent No. 6,787,999, entitled LED-Based Modular Lamp, and U.S. Patent No. 6,799,864, entitled High Power LED Power Pack for Spot Module Illumination.

Mitsubishi Chemical Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Chinese Red Phosphor Maker

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC; Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroaki Ishizuka) today announced that on January 23, the company filed a suit in the Intermediate People's Court in Shenzhen City alleging that products of Yantai Shield Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. and U.S.-based Intematix Corporation infringed on a patent (Chinese patent no. ZL201110066517.7, etc.) for red phosphor owned by MCC and National Institute for Materials Science. MCC seeks an injunction on the production and sale of phosphors in China and damages in this lawsuit.
