Thinking and Polytronics announced revenues for 2010

For all of 2010, Thinking Electronic Industrial posted revenues of NT$4.33 billion, increasing 35.8% from a year earlier. December consolidated revenues were NT$367 million (US$12.61 million), down 3.7% sequentially. In January of 2011, the company started to receive orders as usual, and Thinking's capacity would remain tight in 1Q11 as the company's new plant in China would not come online until 3Q11. But 1Q11 revenues would remain low compared to 4Q10, following the impact of the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays.

PTTC would defer the planned expansion

Recently, a leader of Taiwan-based PTTC (passive device maker Polytronics Technology) noted, with lower demand, the company would delay the scheduled expansion to the end of 1Q11, which had planed to expand its monthly production ability for TCBs (thermal conductive boards) used in LED backlight units of LCD TVs to 100,000 square meters in the end of 2010.

Polytronics sees thermal conductive boards for LED backlights as a key growth driver

Recently, Circuit protection device maker Polytronics Technology estimated its sales in 4Q10 to decrease 15%, but it would be a smaller drop compared to in the same time last year. In October, the company’s consolidated revenues was NT$106 million (US$3.5 million), down 15.6% on month but up 17.3% on year. In the first ten month of 2010, its consolidated sales were NT$1.17 billion, up 46.5% from the same period of 2009.
