As time is moving forward to the second quarter of 2018, more and more rumblings and updates about Micro/Mini LED emerged and have been circulating in the industry. In February, LEDinside collected and revealed information of Micro LED development from nearly 50 companies around the globe. Here, we would like to share some progress updates released after that from 10 companies.

Seren Photonics, the UK-based developer of semipolar and nonpolar Gallium Nitride (GaN) based products, has successfully completed the first tranche of a £1m investment round with funding from existing and new investors.

Seren Photonics Limited (a developer of semipolar gallium nitride products based near Cardiff, Wales) and BluGlass Limited (ASX:BLG  an Australian technology developer, commercialising breakthrough semiconductor manufacturing process and equipment) have announced the completion of phase 1 of the transfer of Seren’s semipolar GaN template process to the BluGlass MOCVD epitaxial services.

Seren Photonics Ltd (Seren) has made its first collaboration agreement that includes terms to bring its unique LED processes to market, but the partner was undisclosed, according to Fusion IP, a university IP commercialisation company that has a 48 % shareholding in Seren.
