Opto Diode Introduces New 99-die LED

Opto Diode Corporation, a supplier of standard and custom infrared and visible LEDs and high performance photodetectors, introduces a new 99 Die LED array product line. The family of products features excellent thermal conductivity, a 110-degree beam angle and a wide range of wavelengths from 405 nm to 870 nm. The six new devices are available in varying wavelengths with typical peak wavelengths of 405, 470, 525, 610, 830 and 870 nm, respectively.

OSRAM Releases Infrared Platinum DRAGON in Stack Chip Technology

The infrared Platinum DRAGON from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors provides a high radiance from a small surface. With its 1 mm² thin-film chip in stack technology it generates an optical output of almost 1 W from a driving current of 1 A – that’s almost twice the output of the standard chips that have been used up to now. The viewing angle and radiant intensity can be varied with standard secondary optics. Preferred applications are those which require high radiance so that small optics can be used.

September 11, 2009- According to survey of the industry research institute LEDinside, Taiwan's listed LED manufacturers recorded total revenue of NT 6.411 billion in August 2009, a 7.2% growth from July and a 8.3% growth YoY – of which, LED chip makers’ total revenue in August gained 5.2% to NT 2.757 billion, while LED packagers posted NT 3.654 billion, 8.7% growth MoM.

Blinx Releases Sound Responsive LED Earphones

Blinx has introduced new sound responsive LED earphones, reports Ubergizmo. The earphones are equipped with a control box which enables the LED to pulse according to the tune of the music being played. Each of these earphones and the central control box includes three blue LED lights. These earphones are compatible with any device housing a standard 3.5mm jack. Apparently, the earphones are powered by two ZA13HP batteries. The Blinx earphones are also said to bundle up foam earbud protectors and instruction leaflet.
