Philips to demonstrate SSL street light and exterior systems at ARC 2009

Philips will showcase its latest solid-state lighting systems at ARC 2009. The lighting solutions featured combine the many advantages of LEDs with proprietary technologies to generate millions of colors, high-quality white light, and customizable lighting effects without the cost and complexities of some traditional lighting methods.

At the ARC Show, Philips will demonstrate how LED technology can meet both the decorative and functional lighting needs of architects and specifiers who seek innovative ways to distinguish spaces while managing energy and maintenance costs.

Following are some examples of LED luminaires and applications that will be on display:

UrbanLine: The contemporarily designed UrbanLine delivers a uniform and visually comfortable white light with color rendering of above 80. It is available in two color temperatures: warm white (3000 K) and neutral white (4000 K). Featuring high-power LEDs combined with smart optics, UrbanLine offers an environmentally friendly lighting solution – consuming up to 51% less energy than traditional street lighting and preventing light pollution. The dimming option which will soon be available also helps to further optimize energy savings and prevent wasted light. In addition, LEDs have a longer lifespan than traditional lighting, which reduces maintenance and the associated costs. Philips LEDs can be expected to last over 50,000 hours.

ColorReach™ Powercore: ideal for large scale exterior lighting. Reflecting a surge in the use of intelligent LED illumination to transform metropolitan architecture around the globe, Philips introduces ColorReach™ Powercore – an optimized system designed specifically for large-scale exterior floodlighting applications. With more than 4,000 lumens of output and 400-foot (122-meter) projection, the system brings saturated color and customizable effects to large buildings, monuments, bridges and towers for 21st-century, sustainable city beautification.

ColorGraze™ Powercore: is a sleek, linear lighting fixture designed for exterior grazing and wall washing applications of color and color-changing light. It is available in 2-foot, 3-foot and 4-foot lengths, and its slim design and adjustable mounting options accommodate wide-ranging architectural niches.

UrbanScene: a range of complete lighting solutions – luminaires (with integrated brackets) and mast – for illumination applications and street lighting. Its modern, integrated family design and energy-saving features (high-efficiency lamps, electronic gear) enable an innovative and sustainable approach to urban lighting. In spring 2009 the UrbanScene range will be completed with three new models: a plug & play gobo projector, an architectural indirect luminaire and an efficient LED post-top fixture for piazzas.

eW™ Profile Powercore is a low-profile, linear fixture for common under-cabinet, task lighting and display case applications. Powered by line voltage, it consumes just 6 watts of energy per foot and can support up to 20 fixtures per run on a single circuit. At 7/8 inch thick and 1 ½ inches wide, the fixture is easily and discretely installed to illuminate work surfaces in both commercial and residential settings. It is available in 11-inch, 21-inch, and 41-inch lengths and in color temperatures of 2700K and 4000K.
