Seoul Semiconductor Reports Continue Growth in TV, Mobile and Automotive Lighting Divisions

Seoul Semiconductor has announced its revenue for the second quarter of 2018 to be KRW 290 billion (US$ 259.84 million), which meets the company’s target of KRW 280 to 300 billion.

According to the report of Seoul Semiconductor, the TV division and mobile division are expected to continue growing in the second half of 2018, having maintained a high growth rate since 2017.

Sales in automotive lighting also rose significantly. With the promotion of the company’s package less WICOP for automotive headlight application, many foreign vehicle producers have adopted the technology and the mass production is scheduled in 2019 and 2021.

The company expects the ramp up from its new manufacturing plant in Vietnam to gain further stability, leading to higher utilization rate in the third-quarter to meet high season demand and lead to improved profitability. The sales target of the next quarter of Seoul Semiconductor is set at KRW 300 to 320 billion.
