ZMD AG's first energy-efficient LED driver ICs

ZMD AG announced its first energy-efficient LED driver ICs, achieving up to 95% efficiency.

This LED driver portfolio is available for all kinds of internal and external lighting applications. With continuous-mode inductive step-down converters, the voltage range of the ZLED7000 and ZLED7010 drive single or multiple LEDs is from 6V to 40V.To adjust to the direct line-powered applications, ZLED7001 is designed as a peak current mode control LED driver , operating within a wide input range from 8Vdc to 450Vdc or 110Vac/220Vac.

Both ZLED7000 and ZLED7010 LED driver have an integrated current-switching transistor, require only four external components for a complete driver and support wide-range dimming. In addition, ZLED7010 also has integrated LED temperature compensation. Both devices can drive up to 750mA of LED current, and feature regulation better than 2Ma, so that they can deliver consistent, flicker-free brightness.

Above three devices, full application kits including application notes and an evaluation board are available.Coming in a SOT89-5 package, The ZLED7000 is suitable for space-constrained applications. The ZLED7001 and ZLED7010 are available in a SOP-8 package. For 1,000 pieces, the price of the ZLED7000 is 0.36 euros ($0.45) ZLED7001 is 0.40 euros ($0.50) and ZLED7010 is 0.63 euros ($0.79).
