Genesis Breaks Into Smartphone Flash LED Supply Chain

LED chip manufacturer Genesis Photonics flip chip components have obtained Japanese smartphone manufacturers certification to be used to make smartphone flashes. They are expected to begin shipment in the first quarter of next year. Due to smartphone flash needing chips which can withstand momentarily high voltage, it was not easy for Genesis to acquire certification and become the first chip manufacturer to break into the Japanese supply chain. If the company’s shipments go without a hitch, it is estimated to account for 5 percent of the company’s monthly consolidated revenues and have a gross profit margin maintained at 20 percent and up.
