[News] Samsung Display Introduces ‘MONT FLEX™’ as Its New Foldable Brand

News Source:

Samsung Display today announced a new foldable display brand, MONT FLEX ™, aiming to further differentiate its industry-leading foldable OLED technology. MONT FLEX ™ will be introduced at the K-Display 2025 Korea Display Exhibition, held from August 7 to 9 at COEX Hall A in Seoul, Korea.

The name MONT FLEX ™, inspired by the French word mont—meaning mountain—symbolizes the pinnacle of innovation in foldable displays. It represents not only Samsung Display’s unwavering commitment to perfecting the ultimate foldable technology, but also its clear technological vision for the future. Each letter in MONT represents one of the four key strengths of Samsung Display’s foldable OLED. M stands for mechanically durable offering outstanding folding reliability; O for opto-mechanically flat, delivering a vivid display with minimal crease; N for narrow bezels that maximize screen area; and T for thin and lightweight design that enhances portability.

Samsung Display’s foldable OLED, now in its seventh year of mass production, has earned industry wide recognition as a premium product for its exceptional durability and elegant design. Its latest foldable OLED panel delivers a slimmer and lighter design than previous models while remaining fully functional after 500,000 folds, reinforcing its exceptional durability.

Through the launch of MONT FLEX ™, Samsung Display aims to more actively communicate the unique value of its foldable OLED to both consumers and industry partners, while reinforcing its leadership in foldables as a key driver of future growth.

“Since beginning mass production of foldable OLEDs in 2019, we have continued to drive technological innovation to perfect the product—becoming the first in the industry to apply UTG™ (Ultra Thin Glass) and LEAD™, a polarizer-free OCF technology, to foldables,” said Jae-Nam Yun, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Display Marketing Team at Samsung Display. “Following the launch of a foldable panel with a newly developed ‘shock-resistant structure’ that passed the 500,000-fold durability test, we will continue pushing the boundaries to deliver even more refined foldable products that exceed market expectations.”
