Shenzhen Schedules to Complete the Popularization of LED Lighting in Public before 2014

Shenzhen government has just put forward the implementation plan on the city’s popularization of LED lighting products. According to the plan, Shenzhen has scheduled to complete the popularization of LED lighting in public places within 2 years. At the same time, the city plans to drive LED industry to achieve over 130 billion yuan by the end of the twelfth five-year plan.

The plan points out that, in the public lighting field, including the urban road, public places, government officers, state-owned institutions, or lighting engineering project hold by state-owned capital investment will take the lead in demonstration, to complete this plan.
 
According to the plan, the above fields will use LED streetlightings, garden lamps and other products, and if the fields which don’t use LEDs, will try to get LED makeover within two years, that is the reconstruction is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2013.

In addition, the plan also adds that, the whole city will speed up the popularization of LED lighting products in non public lighting field. In recent three years, the city intends to carry out about 10 demonstration projects, among the city industrial parks, residential areas, markets, hotels and other fields, to lead the whole society to promote LED lighting.
