Harvatek Teams up with TCL to Found Huizhou LED Packaging Plant

Self-taught sculptor Charlie Gadeken has created Aurora, a sculpture reminiscent of Avatar's bioluminescent Tree of Souls be lit up by LEDs. The Institute of Energy Economics Estimates LEDs may Help Japan Reduce 9% Power Consumption

According to the Institute of Energy Economics (IEE) of Japan, a foundation supervised by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, if LED lights replace all the fluorescent and incandescent lights used in the country, 92.2 billion kilowatts of electricity -- worth the output of 13 nuclear reactors -- would be saved, that is, the annual domestic power consumption would be slashed by 9 percent. Samsung LED is reported to obtain the Energy Star certification which is an international yardstick of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States as to the purchase of lighting equipment.
